Hello Society 88!
Upon arrival Mpho (my waitress) welcomed me with a heart warming smile. Covid regulations and protocols were definitely followed here.
Society 88 is situated in the ever so busy Vilakazi Street, Soweto, an elite spot I would recommend anyone to visit when exploring ikasi (the township).
Table bookings are a must as the space is small, yet intimate. The setting gives of beach vibes, a tropical theme, I'd advise ladies to come through with cocktail dresses and for gents smart casual is a perfect fit. The service I received was extraordinary, so much that there were a few cocktails on the house!
The menu was pleasing to the eye, however because the place is 2 weeks old, they did not have everything that was displayed in the menu, to say the least I was a bit disappointed but the cocktails were to die for and I forgot all about that. They serve kasi style chesa nyama, your famous grill's, seafood and scrumptious burgers so I would recommend that you visit them to feed your appetite.
I believe their signature is their Tanqueray cocktails which are very affordable, well presented and taste Devine.
So let me tell you what I had, I tried their buffalo wings served with a portion of fries cooked to perfection. I enjoyed my meal, the wings were basted in a lovely sticky bbq sauce that literally melted in my mouth!
I definitely enjoyed my stay here, it's perfect for Sundowners on the weekend, they operate from midday to 10pm Friday to Monday and ladies cocktails are to die for. Come through and check the vibe out you wont regret it!
