USA incredible music producers, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland, hit a jackpot. Their online entertaining program, Verzuz, having artists battle each-other, has been purchased by Triller Network.
Verzuz saw it initial stages with the two producers going against one another, hit for hit, on Instagram. Instantly, it garnered attraction and thousands of viewers becoming the best entertaining idea during this pandemic. Renowned artists faced each-other in the viewers' delight, they had Erykah Badu vs Jill Scott, Snoop Dogg vs DMX, Babyface vs Teddy Riley, to name a few.
Triller Network, parent company to TikTok competitor Triller, has purchased Timbaland and Swizz Beatz' platform, the company announced on Tuesday (9 March 2021). No amount of money was disclosed by either party, but both producers, as part of the deal, will become brand visionaries and join the Triller Verzuz management team, and they are shareholders in Triller.
The producers are giving part of their equity to all 43 performers who’ve played on Verzuz since its inception.
“This is a momentous occasion not only for Verzuz and Triller but the music business as a whole,” Swizz Beatz and Timbaland said in a joint statement. “By putting Verzuz in the Triller Network ecosystem and expanding the Verzuz brand to be side by side with the powerful Triller app, we will be able to continue to grow and evolve the music business as a whole, as we have been doing. To have partners in Triller who share our vision, specifically to celebrate and elevate the amazing artists who continue to shape culture around the world and give the consumer more direct access, is game changing.”
