Thandeka Mkhwanazi, Known as TDK Macassette born and raised in Durban.
Montclair Durban to be exact, the warmest city by the beautiful coasts of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. She had the opportunity to start her career off at the age of 14 years old at Ukhozi fm doing a kiddies show every Saturday morning between 7:30 and 8:00am and pursed her love for dancing, where she grew her love for performing arts, where the name TDK MACASSETTE came about. She was also part of HHPs biggest tours in Gauteng where she opened his show amongst many other female dancers.

What is your favorite part of this line of work? Your least favorite? Why?
My favorite part about this line of work is meeting new people and being surrounded by influential people who inspire me a lot.
Please discuss how you interact with and respond to fans
I interact very well with my fans. It could be through social platforms, music or just walking on the side of the road. I’m a peoples person and I love my fans.
What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?
The advice I would give someone who’d love to be part of this industry would be to just go for it. The greatest part about it is talent can be even scouted on social platforms so even utilize that to your advantage.
What does black lives matter to you mean?
Black lives matter, nawe uyezwa nje. The statement defines itself. In that fact, all lives matter actually. So we are all one and should be treated the same, could be white, colored, Indian, etc we are all one in God's eyes.
Tell us your funniest moment you had while you were performing?
My funniest moments while performing was when my wig fall off. That was one crazy time of my life, but hay I still continued performing and even made it a trend back then after the incident to just dance and throw my wig to the crowd, lol.
How do you deal with mental health issues during a lockdown?
How I deal with mental health issues is just to pray and have someone very close that I can speak to like my mother and sisters, that for me has helped me a lot. They keep me going.
What does Gqom Barbie mean?
Gqombarbie means; the doll in the genre Gqom and dance with a touch of glam.
