Da Kruk leaves YFM after more than 10 years of service.
Kutloano Nhlapo, known to YFM listeners and dance music fans as Da Kruk, has parted ways with the station. These news came as a surprise via his Twitter account.
Da Kruk joined Gauteng's leading youth radio station in 2011, since his journey started with YFM, he has been more than exceptional.
The DJ with flair behind decks, joined Ya Ke Yona as a producer. Then went on to host a weekly Saturday dance music show called #ThePlayersClub, giving listeners four hours of pulsating music. Kasi talent was also given a chance alongside popular acts.
Another impactful show hosted by Da Kruk was #TheSindaySocial. Fusing alternative musical genres, it garnered a following from music lovers.
"His stay at YFM came with many accolades such as winning “Content Producer of the Year” for 4 years in a row, a Liberty Radio Award nomination in 2018, a South African Dance Music Award nomination in 2018, heading the Y-Academy internship programme and representing the station globally as a mix DJ and as a host on Beat London 103.6FM and Drums Radio," read his press release.
He didn't reveal his future plans or next move. But, whatever Da Kruk has envisioned for himself, certainly he'll flourish at it.
